Activists launch online campaign against UAE colonisation of Yemen

SANA’A – Yemeni activists have launched a campaign on social media on Saturday evening, in order to denounce the UAE occupation’s support for militias in Yemen.

The campaign “#UAE_Support_ Militias”, which started at 7:00 pm Sana’a local time, is aimed at condemning the UAE’s policy and practices in southern Yemen, which it does through establishing and supporting entities serving its colonial interests.

Activists on Twitter indicated that the UAE has since the beginning of the war on Yemen sought to control the Yemeni ports, airports, islands, the Strait of Bab al-Mandab, and the Yemeni coastline, as well as oil and gas wells and fisheries.

Over the course of four years of the war, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have worked on destroying Yemen’s infrastructure and controlling its important economic areas, and have caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
