The Deputy Director of Security in service of the Saudi coalition in Ma’rib city was killed on Wednesday, according to local sources reported by Yemen Press Agency.
According to the sources, Colonel Mujahid Mabkhout Sharif was killed during clashes between security agencies loyal to the invading coalition, and rebellious tribesmen. Armed conflict between the two sides have continued for three consecutive days.
The sources said that fierce fighting took place south of Ma’rib, in the area of al-Ashraf, between mercenaries and tribal figjter from al-Amir. On Monday, tribal militants from the al-Amir tribe already targeted a military pickup truck south of Ma’rib, killing two soldiers and wounding several others.
