Saudi-led escalation in Hodeidah is an attempt to impede peace talks: Al-Houthi

SANA’A – Head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee on Monday said that the countries of the Saudi-led coalition have committed new brutal massacres by bombing residential areas in the city of Hodeidah.

“Repeating the false calls for peace to stop the war in Yemen made recently by prominent US officials, revealed the real objectives to occupy the city port of Hodeidah, with US blessing,” Mohamed Ali al-Houthi said.

In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency, he said that the new military escalation is against all the calls for peace and the continued air attack on various residential neighborhoods in Hodeidah is a result of the inability of the Saudi-led coalition to achieve any field victory on the ground.

The military escalation revealed the falsity of US statements which have called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, and it is only a mere of an attempt by the United States of America to appear as an honest broker, al-Houthis said, adding that the US is actually leading the war on Yemen.

” It is a usual habit to have a military escalation after any US declaration or a privileged peace or talk about the humanitarian side, as the opposite is taking place is in the field, “he said.

He continued: “the Saudi-led coalition underestimates the blood of the Yemenis, and challenges the international community by the cowardly bombings which targeted several residential areas.”

He said “Its attempts to divert world’s attention from Khashoggi’s murder, in which the Saudi regime is deeply involved in his murdering, while the US administration has failed to pressure its spoiled man to fulfill Trump’s demands by disclosing the details of the crimes that could not find an explanation or handing over the body

In the statement, he condemned the deliberate bombings which targeted several residential areas, which is a serious impediment to any talks aimed at halting the war and bringing peace to Yemen.

The US, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and all their allies are responsible for committing these heinous crimes, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi said.

He also called on the Yemeni people to continue their steadfastness to confront the Saudi-led aggression coalition and its allies on all fronts.
