Saudis launch 69 airstrikes on Yemen right before start of Sweden peace talks
SANA’A – The spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, has condemned the increase in Saudi aerial attacks against Yemen on Wednesday, right before a new round of peace negotiations is scheduled to start in Sweden.
In the past 12 hours alone, the Saudi-led invaders launched no less than 69 airstrikes, combined with dozens of ground attacks, against the Republic of Yemen, General Saree told Saba News Agency. The attacks were concentrated on the frontlines at Jizan, Bayda, Hodeidah, Dhalea and Ma’rib.
“The coalition’s attacks came simultaneously with the beginning of the UN-backed peace consultations in Sweden, which contradicts with the peace efforts,” Saree continued.
The army spokesman pointed out that despite the ferocity of the Saudi criminal attacks, the Yemeni Armed Forces successfully repelled each and every one of them, killing scores of Saudi forces and mercenaries. Brigadier General Yahya Saree concluded by stressing that the Yemeni Armed Forces has the right to defend its territory and respond in kind to any aggression by the invaders.
