Yemen strikes Saudi airport with completely new and highly advanced cruise missile

Yemen’s Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e has the revealed details of the Yemeni missile attack that caused significant damage to Abha International Airport in Asir region, southwestern Saudi Arabia in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Missile Forces launched a winged cruise missile, which hit its target with high accuracy, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e said in a press statement.

The cruise missile is of a, unknown and highly advanced type that has never been seen in action before, and has never even been officially revealed during its testing phase before. While Yemeni forces have released an infographic about their new missile weapon after the attack, so far the name of the model is still unknown.

Yahya Sare’e further confirmed that the missile completely slipped past all US-made detection and air defence systems that Saudi Arabia used.

“The winged missile hit the control tower of the airport directly, causing its destruction and putting it out of service,” the spokespman of the Armed Forces stated.

This strike reportedly caused a widespread state of fear and panic among the Saudis, as well as causing a great confusion in their ranks.

The missile attack comes in retaliation for the continued Saudi crimes and unjust blockade imposed against the Yemeni people. The fact that a wholly new, never before seen and highly advanced cruise missile was used, comes as proof of earlier promises by Yemen that retaliatory strikes against the Saudi-led coalition will only get worse.

Yahya Sare’e vowed that even more painful strikes will be directed at the Saudi-led coalition, stating that: “Even greater is coming”.

SANA’A -Yemeni army forces and fighters from allied Popular Committees have launched a string of airstrikes at Saudi military positions in the kingdom’s Southern regions, in retaliation for the Riyadh regime’s deadly military campaign against their country.

Spokesman for Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e stated on Tuesday evening that Yemeni troops and their allies had carried out aerial assaults against designated targets at Jizan Airport and Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s Southwestern province of Asir, using a squadron of domestically-manufactured Qasef-2K combat drones, Yemeni News reported.

Sare’e further noted that the attacks led to the suspension of flights at the airports.

“The attacks on Abha and Jizan airports are in response to the crimes of Saudi-led aggressors and the ongoing siege on Yemen, which has now entered its fifth year,” the top Yemeni military official added.

Saree then called on civilians and businesses to stay away from Saudi airports and military sites, stating that they are legitimate targets as long as the Saudi-led military aggression and the blockade of Yemen continues.
