Dozens of Saudi forces killed in Jizan

SANA’A – Dozens of troops of the Saudi army and the Saudi-led coalition states were killed in battle on Sunday and Monday, after fierce and highly accurate strikes by the Missile Forces and the artillery units of the Yemeni Armed Forces and Popular Committees struck their bases in Jizan.

Several mercenaries were killed on Sunday when Katyusha rockets and artillery fire from the Yemeni Armed Forces struck their position. On Monday, this attack was followed up by a series of precision strikes on a Saudi military position near the Alab crossing in Jizan, killing and injuring dozens of troops as well as destroying a 23-caliber cannon.

Jizan is an historical part of Yemen, but was conquered and forcefully annexed by Saudi Arabia following their invasion of Yemen in 1934. Ever since the start of the Saudi-led invasion of Yemen in March 2015, Yemeni forces have been carrying out retaliation attacks deep within Saudi territory, including Jizan, Najran and ‘Asir.
