TAIZ – A Yemeni citizen was killed and two others injured in armed clashes that have erupted on Sunday, between coalition rival factions in the southwestern province of Taiz, local sources reported.
According to the sources, a dispute erupted between gunmen belonging to different mercenary factions on Jamal Street in the center of the city.
The dispute developed into an exchange of gunfire between the mercenaries, killing one of them and injuring two others. The mercenaries fled the scene after clashes, one of the sources said.
Over the past two months, Taiz has been witnessing violent confrontations between Salafist militias led by Abu al-Abbas and Islah party militias, following which hundreds of families have fled from the city to Sana’a, which is liberated territory governed by the National Salvation Government.
