Protests against illegal UAE prisons rock Aden

SANA’A – Dozens of families of abducted and detained Yemeni civilians have protested on Tuesday in the southern port city of Aden, demanding the immediate release of the prisoners of illegal UAE-operated prisons in the city.

The United Arab Emirates, which is a member of the Saudi-led invasion coalition that has been attacking Yemen since March 2015, maintains several prisons and torture camps across occupied southern Yemen, in which numerous Yemenis have been locked up without trial.

Eyewitnesses in Aden stated that the protesters, many of whom are mothers of detained victims, raised slogans and banners demanding an end to the torture and incarceration of the abductees.
